B2 Mentoring is built upon a foundation of experience. Our core team is composed of qualified teachers with extensive experience in leadership and management of Special Educational establishments and alternative provision providers across the South West
Our experience working with young people who struggle in mainstream education has taught us the approaches and processes required to help young people to develop so that they are able to access education.
Working with a diverse range of individuals and specific needs means we are keen to hear from passionate individuals with experience of working with young people in a range of different occupations, not just those with a background in education.
Working as a mentor with B2
Our varied provisions mean that no two days are alike. With solid relationships as a foundation to every programme, our mentors work to ensure that learning and development are delivered using the most accessible approaches for that young person.
Mentors report on all sessions using the daily recording system, which uses an online form to capture the details of each session, including the session focus, progress towards objectives, next steps and student feedback. These are reviewed by a member of the central team for any areas for development or further enquiry, with the results used to inform provision programmes, develop specific strategies or areas of focus, as well as informing half-termly reviews and feedback to parents/carers.
All staff undertake regular group and individual training and development, including safeguarding, behavioural approaches and forums for sharing good practice. These are scheduled on a minimum half-termly basis, with informal catchup and touch-base sessions taking place on a weekly basis.
